VANESSA AVILA, PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant/Injury Specialist
Vanessa is a staff Physical Therapist Assistant at KOH Physical Therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology Pre-Physical Therapy from Cal State University of San Bernardino prior to returning to school to pursue her passion for the physical therapy field. Vanessa graduated with an Associate in Applied Science degree from Concorde College where she received her Physical Therapist Assistant state license.
Vanessa is an advocate of wellness and enjoys helping her patients understand what to expect during Physical Therapy as well as giving them the tools to maximize their own recovery. After undergoing knee surgery, she experienced what it is like being a patient and the importance of having quality hands-on treatment from a caring therapist.
Vanessa is a Certified IASTM L1 & L2 Practitioner, certified in Advanced Concepts in Kinesiology Taping, and also trained in Fasical Joint Pumping techniques. She hopes to pursue further career options in the field by becoming an APTA Board Certified Clinical Instructor and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in addition to gaining other clinical specializations.
