Active Release Technique® (ART) is a patented movement based soft tissue massage technique that treats issues with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. The technique focuses on relieving tension in the tissue via the removal of fibrosis or adhesions that can develop in the tissue due to overuse.

Conditions that result in the overuse of muscles, like headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, sciatica, tennis elbow, as well as shoulder and knee pain can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART®.

Overuse of muscles can result in micro-trauma or lack of oxygen (hypoxia) to the injured area, causing the body to create scar tissue. ART® allows clinicians to use their hands to detect adhesions in the soft tissue, like scar tissue, and get to the root of the problem, offering quick results.

As word has spread about the efficacy of ART®, many individuals, groups, as well as business entities have come to rely heavily on this soft tissue management system. Electronic manufacturer, Sanmina-SCI, saw an 80% reduction in injuries within the past four years, using ART® certified practitioners. This ultimately resulted in an 81% decrease in worker’s compensation costs for the company.
