Student Physical Therapist Opportunities
Develop your clinical experience in an outpatient environment with exposure to orthopedic and sports physical therapy, clinical reasoning, patient care, and professional collaboration.
About the role
KOH Physical Therapy Lab offers clinical rotations for physical therapy (SPT) and physical therapist assistant (SPTA) students. This is an educational placement, not a job.
Rotations are arranged with your program under an affiliation agreement between your school and KOH Physical Therapy Lab. Placement depends on that agreement and on clinic availability.
What you'll do
- Work through real orthopedic cases with your clinical instructor, from evaluation to plan of care.
- See how hands-on manual techniques and exercise work together in one-on-one outpatient care.
- Build, teach and progress exercise programs, including home programs clients can do on their own.
- Practice clear, confident communication with patients.

What we're looking for
- Current enrollment in a physical therapy or physical therapist assistant program.
- A school able to arrange an affiliation agreement with KOH Physical Therapy Lab.
- Interest in outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy.

Mentorship
Learn through one-on-one mentoring and regular feedback, under supervision that follows California rules.
Clinical reasoning
Talk through your reasoning on each case with your clinical instructor.

Treat a broad client mix, from athletes to adults recovering from orthopedic surgery.

How placements work
Rotations are an educational experience, not employment, and placement is not guaranteed. They are arranged through your school's clinical education coordinator. More detail is on our student clinical programs page.
Where you'd work
Our clinics are in Irvine and Long Beach, with Ontario opening soon. Openings vary by clinic, so tell us which location works for you. See our locations.
